Aromatherapy: Natural Therapy that (sometimes!) Smells Good

I'm just starting to really learn about the wonderful world of aromatherapy, and making my own 'potions', but I'm very taken with it. I was initially drawn to it because I believe that the sense of smell is very powerful - it can affect our emotions, and the way we feel physically as well. As I have studied more about essential oils, though, I've learned that the oils have much more going for them than smell! For that matter, some of 'em really stink!!

Below are two of the resources I've found along my way from whom I've purchased products:

Nature's Gift
By far the very best source for the very best oils anywhere!! I can't recommend their products highly enough! There are also wonderful descriptions for all the essential oils they sell. Really, just make your life easier, and buy essential oils here. You can also buy some base products, such as carrier oils, here as well. They carry Mango Butter, which I think is the most important thing I put into my lip balm. It's got a wonderfully smooth and creamy feeling.

These folks have a wide variety of herb and aromatherapy products.

Le Melange Home Fragrances
I just made my first lip balm, and it's been a real hit with folks at my office. I got some of the supplies from these folks. I also used their recipes as a basis for developing my own. You can find the recipes on this page: Lip Balm Recipes This is as good a time as any to stress that fragrance oils and scents are not the same as essential oils. I have not purchased essential oils from these folks, so I can't attest to their quality. Their service was really good, though, when I got my flavors, beeswax, and tubes. I also got avocado oil from them, and it seemed to be of good quality.
