Insulin Resistance, Syndrome X, and
Type II Diabetes

I have one caveat I want to express before you get to the links below. Many folks, both professional and non-profession, are advocating a low-carbohydrate diet as treatment for insulin resistance and syndrome X. I have had great success at controlling my blood sugar spikes and insulin resistance with either Metformin or Avandia and eating the Weight Watchers way, WHEN I STAY ON PROGRAM! It's up to me to do that! I have been able to lose weight without going low carb. You have to find a way of eating that you can stick to for the rest of your life, and I couldn't do that with low carb. After all, that's what it's all about, right? Changing the way you live so that you stay healthy forever. I have tried living the low-carb way, but I just couldn't keep it up forever. Take the information from the sites below and make up your own mind. You have to do what works for you, and you have to be able to do it long-term, not just for a week or a month.
