Best Information on Low Carbohydrate Diets
Low-Carb diets are all the rage right now. Many people view them as the magic solution to weight loss, some even think the diets will reverse heart disease. One diabetic doctor in particular is even using a low carb diet to normalize blood sugar readings in diabetics. They do sound promising to me, in that they reduce the fluctuations in blood sugar that plague insulin resistant folks like me. I've tried the low-carb route several times, but I just can't stick with them. All that protein just seems to be too hard on my system, and I can't get past missing fruits and other healthy things! I'm in Weight Watchers now. Listed below are links to sites that provide information about these diets. In the interest of providing both sides of the issue, I have both "pro" and "con" sections. Many, many nutrition experts feel that these diets are disastrous and work only because they reduce calorie intake. Other people feel that this is the best thing for them, and they have been extremely successful. The important thing to remember with ANY diet or lifestyle change is that the only way to decrease weight is to decrease overall calorie consumption and increase energy expenditure. How to do that is up to you and me! If you would like to see some terrific links to low-carb diet resources, low-carb diet products, or low carb diet books, just click on the links in the table to the left. Information in
